What is a Career Pathway?
Your career pathway is a combination of valuable education, training, and other services that will:
- Prepare you for getting your GED, attending college, and/or completing an apprenticeship
- Support you in achieving your personal, educational, and career goals
- Equip you with industry skills that are needed in the workforce
- Help you enter into or advance within your desired career field
Available Programs
There are several types of employment and training programs available. You may be able to participate in one or more depending on your benefits, situation, education level, work experience, and location.
EARN
Employment, Advancement and Retention Network - helps TANF recipients prepare for, find, and keep employment.
Work Ready
Workforce preparation services including job search skills, resume building, and interview coaching.
SNAP EARN
Employment and training services for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants.
KEYS
Keystone Education Yields Success - supports eligible individuals pursuing education at community colleges.
ELECT
Education Leading to Employment and Career Training - educational services for pregnant and parenting teen students.
Refugee Resettlement
Helps refugees and their families obtain employment, social integration, and self-sufficiency in Pennsylvania.
UpSkilling
Short-term credential and certification programs that help workers advance in current roles or pivot to in-demand occupations.
Military Transition
Employment and training pathways for veterans and transitioning service members, mapping military occupational specialties to civilian careers.
Who Can Participate?
If you are receiving any of the following benefits, you may be able to volunteer or could be required to participate:
- TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) - Participation is typically mandatory for recipients.
- SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) - Participation may be mandatory or voluntary depending on your circumstances.
- Refugee Resettlement Program - Participation is mandatory.
