Studio Arts Minor

Hamline University · Saint Paul, MN

A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

Description
The Studio Arts minor will help students develop technical skills in industry-standard tools and methods used in professional art-making practice; an understanding of the use and analysis of foundational elements and principles of art, including concept, color, and materials; and methods and strategies for idea generation, concept development, giving and receiving constructive feedback, and confidence in multimodal communication and collaboration. These skills are critical within creative fields, but transferable to nearly any career path. The Studio Arts minor is designed for students interested in exploring artmaking and building a creative practice to complement their major area of study, rather than pursuing art or design as a career path (for that we recommend the Digital + Studio Arts major).
