Medical Reimbursement & Coding, AAS

Bryant & Stratton College-Syracuse North · Liverpool, NY

A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

Description
Students in the Medical Billing and Coding associate degree program develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of entry-level coders and billers in outpatient settings. Throughout this program, students will know how to apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes and accurately prepare insurance claims as part of the revenue cycle. Students completing the associate degree program will be prepared for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam given by AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders). Successful completion of coding practice within the program meets the AAPC requirements to remove the apprentice status.
