The transferability of credits you earn at the Gemological Institute of America is at the complete discretion of an institution to which you may seek to transfer. Acceptance of the (diploma or certificate) you earn in the educational program is also at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer. If the (diploma or certificate) that you earn at this institution is not accepted at the institution to which you seek to transfer, you may be required to repeat some or all of your coursework at that institution. For this reason you should make certain that your attendance at this institution will meet your educational goals. This may include contacting an institution to which you may seek to transfer after attending the Gemological Institute of America to determine if your (diploma or certificate) will transfer. Licensed private career schools offer curricula measured in clock hours, not credit hours. Certificates of completion, i.e., school diplomas, are issued to students who meet clock hour requirements. An empty section is a gap in our capture, not in the college's catalog. Each one names our step that has not reached it yet: Gather, Harvest or Serve.

Every fact on this page is from Gemological Institute of America-New York's own published catalog, cited where it appears. Read from CourseShelf publish 61, built 2026-10-22.
