Description
This undergraduate program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in a community/public health setting and/or students seeking a health major as preparation for entry into related professions. The goal of the program is to prepare scholar-practitioners who have a broad knowledge base in the concepts of wellness, health promotion, and disease prevention, as well as in community and public health services, and service delivery. Emphasis is also given to developing competencies in the assessment of individual and community health needs, as well as in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community health programs. In addition to the major in Community Health, students may pursue a concentration in Nutrition Science. Please refer to “Major Core Electives” (below) for further information.
