A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

Description
The Classical Humanities minor offers students the opportunity to pursue advanced study of ancient Greece and Rome. The study of the ancient Latin language provides students with a linguistic foundation that helps them to develop reading, writing, and communication skills broadly applicable to academic and professional pursuits. Complementing Latin study, students fulfill the Classical Humanities minor by taking courses featuring Greek and Roman literature and culture from a variety of historical periods and genres (including Greek and Roman mythology, epic, tragedy, lyric poetry, history, philosophical texts, and personal letters). Sustained exploration of Classical texts prepares students to understand the legacy and influence of ancient Greece and Rome on our contemporary world, including key issues about the nature of humanity, the relationship of the human to the divine, and the uses and abuses of power in ancient and contemporary societies.
