A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

- Description
- The Art Education program offers a blended 5-year Bachelor of Science/Master of Science in Education dual degree in Art Education with New York State Initial Teacher Certification, Birth-Grade 12. Committed to developing well-rounded artist-teacher-researchers, the mission is to prepare students to become practicing artists and knowledgeable, reflective professional educators capable of teaching visual arts in diverse contexts and advancing change in the field. The program blends theory and research with extensive clinical experience practice in area schools and Nazareth’s Saturday Art School. The 5-year B.S./M.S.Ed. program incorporates selected graduate coursework during the fourth year of the program (undergraduate level) for students who have met eligibility and admissions requirements. The 5-year B.S./M.S. Ed. program offers the ambitious teacher candidate a time compressed pathway and as well as a financial discount towards Professional Certification (5 years instead of 6 years) . The teacher candidate experiences the comprehensive grounding in studio art methods and begins art education methods coursework which are then expanded upon at the advanced, graduate level during the senior year and fifth, graduate year while completing advanced curriculum and research coursework.
