- Description
- Bioinformatics is an exciting, interdisciplinary field that combines biology, programming, statistics, and data science to analyze and interpret large biological data sets. Students in the bioinformatics analysis minor will take introductory courses to learn about the field of bioinformatics and a molecular biology-based course to solidify their knowledge of important molecules and processes involving DNA, RNA, and proteins. Students will learn introductory bioinformatics programming and will have a choice of a course in statistics or data analysis. An advanced-level course will delve more deeply into bioinformatics analysis and practice important skills used by professionals in the field.
