A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

- Description
- RIT’s bioinformatics and computational biology degree combines biology and computing so graduates can analyze big data collected by the health industry to discover, diagnose, and treat a wide range of medical conditions. The program includes both laboratory exercises and assignments focused on utilizing computer programs to analyze DNA sequences and to predict molecular models. The curriculum prepares you to gain key skills employers look for, including fundamental training in molecular biology, biochemistry and biotechnology (particularly genomics and relational database administration); programming skills (such as the ability to use SQL, PERL, C, C++, etc., on a UNIX operating system); strong analytical abilities using relevant mathematical/statistical tools; strong computational skills to leverage data outcomes; and the ability to multitask and meticulously perform the same task repetitively, while working independently.
