Description
Biomedical sciences is a dynamic, investigative field that combines biology, research, and medicine to maintain and promote the health of both humans and animals. RIT’s BS in biomedical sciences prepares you with the skills, self-confidence, and cross-disciplinary literacy necessary to pursue research positions and advanced study options in various areas of medicine and health care. From pharmacology and epidemiology to anatomy, nutrition and biochemistry, the major’s diverse curriculum offers a vast array of electives and experiential learning opportunities that allow you to apply the knowledge you gain in the classroom to real-world experience. Your faculty advisor will partner with you to tailor an academic program that is customized to your professional areas of interest and includes undergraduate research or independent study with a faculty mentor that will prepare you for top research positions. RIT’s pre-health professions advising program also provides the guidance you will need to select course work and to complete the requirements necessary for admission to premier medical schools or health science graduate programs.
