A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

- Description
- RIT’s BS in computational mathematics emphasizes problem-solving using mathematical models to identify solutions in business, science, engineering, and more. The degree combines the beauty and logic of mathematics with the application of today’s fastest and most powerful computers. RIT’s computational mathematics curriculum requires core courses in computational mathematics, such as calculus, differential equations, graph theory, abstract and linear algebra, mathematical modeling, and numerical analysis. The program uses computers as problem-solving tools to produce mathematical solutions to real-world problems in engineering, operations research, economics, business, and other areas of science. You will gain extensive computing skills through several high-level programming, system design, and other computer science courses. Experiential learning is also a required component of the program, and you are encouraged to participate in research opportunities or cooperative education experiences.
