A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

- Description
- Today’s writers are content creators who use digital tools to communicate a range of messages across a variety of platforms, and they also collaborate with game designers, animators, scientists, engineers, marketing professionals, and digital media strategists. RIT’s BS degree in English pairs the study and making of new forms of literature and media with the digital tools you need to excel in today’s professional environments. The curriculum grounds you in critical thinking, writing, and creating, all while preparing you with knowledge of digital tools, which affect how we write, tell stories, and analyze literature. The major offers more than 70 courses to choose from as well as the opportunity to select a concentration in creative writing or literature and media. You can tailor your experience with a vast array of professional electives and a broad range of computing and tech courses. You also can take advantage of several opportunities to study abroad that will enhance your understanding of global cultures. Students are able to study full-time at one of RIT;s global campuses, or at a variety of international host schools and are able to select courses in your major as well as in liberal arts.
