- The Department of Nursing is dedicated to fostering the development of intentional learners who are well-prepared to transition into professional practice as integral members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Through a dynamic, experiential education, the nursing program equips students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to provide safe, high-quality care across diverse populations, cultures, and the health/wellness continuum. Rooted in a commitment to student-centered learning, diversity, and sustainability, the program promotes academic excellence, holistic growth, and hands-on clinical experiences that prepare graduates to meet the ever-evolving healthcare needs of their communities. Nursing faculty serve as collaborative partners with students and healthcare agencies, ensuring that graduates are ready to contribute meaningfully to the nursing workforce. Upon completion of the program, students earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree and are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), empowering them to embark on impactful careers dedicated to enhancing health and well-being.
