Clinical experiences are provided in acute care settings including maternity services and newborn nursery and neonatal intensive care settings. Selected community experiences are also included. Students utilize critical thinking skills in application of the nursing process in the care of the neonate and women. Components of Professionalism, (competency, legal, ethical, political and economic issues), Critical Thinking are incorporated throughout this course to enable students to integrate theory and practice. The student must receive a satisfactory clinical evaluation in order to receive a passing grade for this course. 120 Total course hours. Prerequisites
