- Coursework: Five Russian, East European, and/or Eurasian area studies (non-language*) courses (15 credits). A maximum of two courses (6 credits) from the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies Certificate may be counted toward another credential, such as a major, minor, or certificate. If a student is pursuing multiple credentials, up to four courses (12 credits) from the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies Certificate may overlap with those combined programs. Courses must be taken in at least three departments. Students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in REEES-related courses.Not resolved to a course
- Language proficiency: a minimum of two years (four terms) of college-level study of a language of the former Soviet Union or East-Central Europe. Pitt offers Russian, Polish, Slovak, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Modern Greek, Turkish, Persian and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian. Additionally, Pitt’s Summer Language Institute offers Bulgarian and Czech.
