- Program Description The General Studies Associate of Science degree is SLCC’s most flexible transfer program and is designed for students who either have not decided upon a major or need to customize their courses for transfer to a specific baccalaureate degree program. Students who have not yet chosen a major are encouraged to explore their interests by selecting courses from a variety of disciplines. Students who have identified a future major may select classes that satisfy specific prerequisite and pre-major requirements for their intended baccalaureate degree. Since different universities have different degree requirements, students are encouraged to select appropriate courses that will satisfy requirements at their anticipated transfer institution.
