A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

- Description
- The Associate of Science in Education provides students with a core of education coursework and field experiences with diverse populations for those seeking a career in community schools. Students will learn culturally relevant approaches for teaching and learning. This degree fulfills the education requirements for paraprofessionals as “highly qualified” under federal law (Title I schools) and includes Minnesota Standards of Effective Practice for Teachers for those intending to transfer into a four-year teacher licensure program. Students seeking a degree in Elementary Education should declare the Elementary Education Foundation Transfer Pathway AS degree. Check specific transfer arrangements with the university and a Century College counselor or advisor early and often to ensure an appropriate program is planned for enrollment at Century and at the university.
