A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

- Description
- The English associate in arts (A.A.) degree provides a combination of general education courses and discipline-specific coursework in which students have an opportunity to put their focus in at least one of three concentrated areas: literature, creative writing, and journalism/communications. Along with students expanding their critical thinking skills through analyzing literature and writing, which includes diverse works, they will continue to master strong communication skills. Based on the SUNY Transfer Paths, students will work closely with their academic advisors to select additional courses within their field of study to obtain junior status in their desired baccalaureate program, which could include English, Journalism, and Education. The program can also provide a pathway for students to explore careers in writing, media, education, law, and more.
