A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

- Description
- The certificate, awarded by the department in recognition of significant applied scholarship, emphasizes the methodological skills and professional practices necessary for employment as an applied anthropologist. Particular focus will be paid to the ethical considerations inherent in applied work, research methods, data gathering and analysis, and proposal writing. Students will learn the benefits as well as the challenges of working for community-based organizations, non-governmental organizations, cultural resource management groups and other public and private sector employers. Students will design, research, and implement a project that directly benefits an organization or members of a community. Certificate candidates are expected to present their project to the organization or community or at a colloquium, professional meeting, or conference.
