Description
Applied Sociology is the study of society with a focus on using sociological knowledge and methodologies to address real-world problems. Students learn to analyze social behavior, institutions, and inequalities by examining how social identities and structural factors influence people’s everyday lives and life chances. The program emphasizes practical skills-such as research, data analysis, communication, and problem-solving-that can be applied in diverse settings and encourages students to participate in hands-on learning. Graduates are prepared for careers in many fields including health and human services, criminal justice and law, education, business, media and entertainment, public administration and policy, and community development.
