Description
The Master of Science for Teachers (MST) Inclusive and Special Education (All Grades) program is a 47-credit, innovative, clinically rich, teacher education program designed for both career changers and recent college graduates seeking initial teacher certification in Students with Disabilities (SWD) (All Grades). To address the Special Education teacher shortage nationwide, this program offers flexible entry points (fall and spring) and fully online courses. The program is designed to meet new Students with Disabilities (SWD) (All Grades) certification requirements of The New York State Education Department (NYSED) and in accordance with the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) standards. Specific attention has been given to meeting the thirteen new indicators from NYSED SWD (All-Grades) Certification, including autism foundations, cultural linguistic responsiveness, and interdisciplinary content methods. The fully online program can be completed in four, five or six semesters, allowing flexibility for our teacher candidates to balance their career goals and aspirations with the demands of their everyday lives. Course will be offered in the fall, spring, and summer semesters, with both full-time and part-time templates.
