3 courses with the subject EEMN, each shown exactly as we captured it from the college's catalog, with every element we hold. Where the wording looks broken, that is our reading of the catalog, not the college's text.
EEMN 401Manufacturing Processes3
Introduces manufacturing processes applied by shipyards and other manufacturing enterprises and expands the students’ knowledge of machining, joining, forming, casting, forging, and corrosion protection by emphasizing their physical fundamentals. Topics also include modern shipyard production processes and procedures.
An introduction to marine materials and maintenance and repair processes applied on board ship and in shipyards. Expands the student’s knowledge of welding, industry practices, joining, measurement and inspection by emphasizing physical fundamentals and personal skills. Topics also include repair and maintenance processes and procedures.
The purpose of this elective is to produce introductory skills in using 3D computer aided design (CAD) software and knowledge of 3D printing (additive manufacturing). Autodesk Inventor (or similar) software will be used extensively to make 2D drawings, 3D parts, and 3D assemblies. Stress simulation and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) will be investigated. Lectures will also include additive manufacturing processes and their applications. A semester long project will be incorporated into the term where students will design their own parts/assemblies, fabricate them using 3D printers, assemble and test their designs, and produce related technical drawings based on industry standards
