Transfer Credit Campbell University accepts transfer credits from other colleges and universities on the basis of course equivalency, which means that a course taken at another institution is comparable to a Campbell course’s objectives, learning outcomes, and educational level. Campbell University reserves the right to accept or deny transfer coursework. The university evaluates coursework completed at institutions accredited by the following recognized accrediting bodies: Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), Higher Learning Commission (HLC), Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Coursework from institutions accredited by other U.S. Department of Education–recognized agencies may be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, such exceptions are not the standard practice. Students may transfer a maximum of 90 credits to be applied toward an undergraduate degree. This maximum includes coursework from junior, community, or four-year institutions, as well as any combination of military credit, CLEP, AP, IB tests receiving the minimum required score. Campbell University will accept semester hours only for all coursework that received a C- grade or better. The student’s grade point average (GPA) will be determined by the work completed only at Campbell University. Students pursuing an undergraduate degree are required to complete a minimum of 25% percent of their degree requirements at Campbell. To earn a bachelor’s degree from Campbell, a student must complete the final 32 hours at Campbell, and 12 of these hours must be upper-level (300-400) courses. In those instances where course titles on transcripts are inadequate to determine the nature of the course, students are responsible for providing documentation of content. Institutional catalogs, course syllabi, or other written evidence may be used. When the official evaluation is complete, the student can view the evaluation in Student Self Service along with a personalized updated checklist for their declared major showing all courses remaining to be completed for graduation. All documents submitted to Campbell University (ex: SAT scores, high school transcripts, college transcripts) cannot be returned, copied, or forwarded. Back to top
