The course illustrates the way in which economists view the world. Students will learn about basic tools of micro- and macroeconomics analysis and, but applying them, they will understand the behavior of households, firms and government. Problems include: trade and specialization; the operation of markets; industrial structure and economic welfare; the determination of aggregate output and price level; fiscal and monetary policy and foreign exchange rates. 62
