Transfer Glossary

Guaranteed Transfer Programs - Guaranteed Transfer Programs are enhanced transfer pathways established by individual universities to create more streamlined transfer experiences for students at partnering NC Community Colleges. Although all these programs support transfer to UNC System institutions, each has its own eligibility requirements, participating community colleges, program structure, and student benefits. In some cases, the Guaranteed Transfer Programs function as extensions of the CAA and established UAAs, offering degree earners additional benefits like pre-transfer advising, academic support or other university-specific services. Other Guaranteed Transfer Programs may guarantee admission to the university or, in some cases, to specific majors for students who meet established criteria. Many of the established Guaranteed Transfer Programs are a combination of several of these features. Students interested in Guaranteed Transfer Programs across the UNC System can learn more each program here and are encouraged to review specific program requirements and availability. Regardless of whether a student participates in one of these programs, traditional transfer pathways to UNC System institutions are always available.
