| Transfer Of Courses | transfer_credit | Enrollment at another institution in a Fall or Spring semester except through consortial relationships or other partnerships is not permitted. In some cases, a portfolio review or proficiency test may be required (for example, in art or music) to determine the transferability of a particular course. A maximum of 75%, usually 90 credits, may be transferred for credit: 90 credit hours maximum from both 2-year or 4-year institutions combined. Transfer credit is awarded for grades of “C” or better – “Pass/No Credit” does not transfer. Students entering their senior year and/or have earned 80+ credits must attend a 4-year institution in order to transfer credits back to Moravian University. The final decision on transfer of credits rests with the Office of Registrar. Transfer students seeking AP, CLEP, or DSST/DANTES credit for examinations taken prior to matriculating at Moravian University must provide an original score report from the College Board. Credits for courses completed at foreign institutions accredited by the respective Ministry of Education or with an official transcript evaluated by World Education Service (WES) with a grade of C (2.0) or higher may be transferred into Moravian University, provided that these courses are in subjects generally recognized as appropriate for liberal arts colleges and are either comparable to courses offered at Moravian University or are applicable to a degree program at Moravian University. Such credits must be evaluated and approved for transfer credit by the appropriate department or program chair and the Registrar. In some cases, a course description or syllabus, in English, may be required before a decision on transfer credits is finalized. Students seeking a bachelor’s degree from Moravian University must complete a minimum of thirty (30) credits at the University to qualify for the degree, as well as all other degree requirements (specifically at least 50% of required courses in the major and, where applicable, in general education). Students who have attended other colleges or universities may seek to have credits transferred into Moravian University to count toward the completion of their degree. Moravian will accept credits from other institutions when students have earned a grade of “C” or better (2.0) for that course. In instances where the course content is deemed to match the material taught in either the general education or major requirements of the SPSI program, credit will be given toward the satisfaction of that requirement. When the course content is deemed to differ from the material taught in a required general education or major course, even if the course name may be the same or similar, elective credit may be granted for that course. Remedial courses will not transfer into Moravian University. Students enrolling in a bachelor’s degree who have successfully completed an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science (AA or AS) degree from an accredited two-year college or university will be deemed to have completed the general education requirements of Moravian University, with the exception of BUSI 100 Design Your Professional Life (4 credits). Moravian University and the University Registrar have the final decision on whether transfer credits will or will not be granted.
