Courses transferred to the community college from other higher education institutions will not be accepted under this agreement. degree are eligible to transfer credits on a course-by-course basis.

In addition, if the courses taken elsewhere are offered through Muhlenberg College, eligible students may also qualify for federal grants and loans.

Credit for Work Elsewhere Students may transfer up to three graduate courses from other similar programs toward their Muhlenberg degree where an equivalency in the degree program is found, and in consultation with the program faculty and the approval of the Dean of Graduate Studies. Students from programs that are designed as GCE partnerships may be allowed to transfer in a higher number of graduate courses (up to a maximum of 50% of the program requirements). Acceptance of any credit for prior learning in lieu of courses in a degree program will be at the discretion of the Dean of Graduate Studies and the appropriate department chair. All credit for prior learning will be considered transfer credit and is subject to the same conditions as traditional college transfer credit. The Dean of Graduate Studies will forward to the Office of the Registrar original score reports or official ETS transcripts along with an Advanced Standing Form that provides the equivalent course and grade.

The College accepts transfer students (Any student who has graduated from high school and subsequently enrolls at another institution will be considered a transfer student) for entrance in both semesters of the academic year. In addition, an interview is required of all transfer applicants and must be completed by the appropriate application deadline. Each course completed at another institution is evaluated individually to determine eligibility for transfer credit.
