| transfer_credit | Evaluated Educational Plan In addition, the Seminary will provide to service members, veterans, and their family members who have previous coursework from other accredited institutions and relevant military training and experiential learning an evaluated education plan that indicates: 1. How many, if any, transfer credits we intend to award and 2. How these transfer credits will be applied toward your educational program. | 2020-2021 | www.ptseminary.edu | |
| transfer_credit | TRANSFER CREDITS AND REPEATED COURSES Transfers of credits from another school are measured in the quantitative review/completion rate calculations, but are not included in the (GPA) qualitative standard review for academic progress. | 2020-2021 | www.ptseminary.edu | |
| transfer_credit | Once students have received their first PTS degree, they may waive courses and/or transfer credits from the first PTS degree to the second PTS degree. TRANSFER OF CREDIT Students may transfer up to two-thirds of the credit hours required for a degree at PTS. Only one-half of the credit hours from a degree completed at another institution may be transferred. Up to one-half of the credit hours required for a concentration may be transferred. Consequently, students may be required to provide course documents in order to determine the transferability of a course(s). Exceptions to this policy may be granted in cases where documentation and demonstration of course equivalency can be established. All requests for transfer of credits must be processed through the Office of the Vice President for Academics. ADVANCED STANDING WITH CREDIT Following the guidelines established by the Association of Theological Schools, students may be granted advanced standing with credit for certain undergraduate academic work. Advanced standing with credit is separate from transfer of credits and refers to decisions about students' competence when no transcripts of graduate credit are presented. Students may petition for advanced standing with credit for certain Seminary courses (a list of these courses is found in the Academics section of PTS Forms). | 2020-2021 | www.ptseminary.edu | |
| prior_learning | Advanced standing with credit cannot be granted on the basis of ministerial life or experience. Students may be allowed/required to audit one or more of the courses as part of a portfolio demonstrating equivalency in knowledge and/or skills. Students may earn up to the following number of credits based on their undergraduate work: Application for advanced standing with credit must be made to the Office of the Vice President for Academics by July 15 for the Fall semester and by October 15 for the Spring semester. Students are responsible for preparing the advanced standing portfolio for each course and for collecting all needed documents according to guidelines provided by the Academics Office. | 2020-2021 | www.ptseminary.edu | |
| prior_learning | *These requirements may be fulfilled by successful completion of the courses as part of the MTS Biblical Studies Concentration, petition for advanced standing based upon previous study, or petition to have the requirement waived based upon previous study and thus the number of hours required for graduation reduced by six to twelve hours. | 2020-2021 | www.ptseminary.edu | |
| transfer_credit | OTHER POLICIES Transfer of Credit Students may transfer up to 9 hours of elective credit provided the courses are approved as components of the student's focus area of study. Under rare circumstances a course may be transferred as a substitution for a course in the core curriculum. Transfer of credit will not be given for course work more than 10 years old. Exceptions to this policy may be granted in cases where documentation and demonstration of course equivalency can be established. | 2020-2021 | www.ptseminary.edu |
