Spanish-English Translation and Interpreting

Utah Valley University · Orem, UT

A checklist is the list of requirements to complete this program and receive the award, as the college publishes it in its catalog. It is the same for everyone. It does not say what you have completed; that comes from applying your own record.

Description
The Minor in Spanish-English Translation and Interpreting first and foremost exposes students to the many different career paths in the language services industry and helps students develop competencies to successfully enter this industry. Allows students to focus on interpreting or translation, or pursue both. Explores specific fields in Spanish, analyzes how to design Spanish-English practice regimens for continuing, self-directed learning, and provides practice with industry-standard/cutting-edge software to help with translation and interpreting processes. Includes a language internship through which students apply their learning to projects and problems in the professional world.
