| transfer_credit | Any credit awarded from Prior Learning does not count toward the 25% residency requirement. Credits earned during the first degree may be applied, if deemed transferable to the second degree. Students considering continuing their education at or transferring to other institutions must not assume that credits earned at ECPI will be accepted by the receiving institution. An institution’s accreditation does not guarantee that credits earned at that institution will be accepted for transfer by any other institution. | coursedog-pdfs-public-prod.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com | ||

| transfer_credit | The Associate of Applied Science degree programs in all health science fields are considered terminal degrees without opportunity for transfer credit; however, students may enter bachelor’s degrees with advanced standing for their earned work at the associate's level. Prior Learning and Transfer Policies and Procedures Prior Learning and Transfer Policies and Procedures ECPI University recognizes and welcomes students that arrive at our institution with diverse backgrounds and varied prior learning experiences. A maximum of 25% may be earned through ECPI Prior Learning Portfolio Assessment and Challenge Exams. Students should review the policies and procedures outlined in this section including any relevant program-specific policies and the standards for each type of prior learning. | coursedog-pdfs-public-prod.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com | ||
| transfer_credit | Only official transcripts are considered for transfer credit. All official transcripts must be received and all prior learning credit must be approved before the end of the student’s first semester. Prior Learning and Transfer Policies and Procedures Prior Learning and Transfer Policies ECPI University awards transfer credit and advanced standing based on individual course content, specific degree program requirements and University academic standards. Credit that is awarded as transfer credit or advanced standing credit to a student’s degree program is applied toward degree completion and as such, students cannot receive duplicate transfer credit for more than one external course that is equated to the same course or curriculum requirement at ECPI. Developmental or remedial courses are not eligible for transfer. Advanced Standing may be granted for prior coursework, qualifying professional training, or industry-standard certification exams deemed equivalent in content and scope to courses offered at the University. The University reserves the right to require successful completion of an assessment administered by ECPI faculty before awarding transfer credit or advanced standing. Students are responsible for reviewing the policy guidelines and evaluation criteria for each type of prior learning or transfer credit they intend to pursue to ensure alignment with their academic goals and program requirements. Transfer and Advanced Academic Standing credits are counted as both hours attempted and hours completed within the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy. Transfer credit does not hold any qualitative points, therefore transfer credit is not included in the calculation of the grade-point average for the purpose of determining a student's CGPA or meeting the CGPA requirement of the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy. Financial Aid Implications of Transfer Credit Students who are eligible to receive Prior Learning and Transfer Credit may experience one or more terms in which the student’s status, for the purposes of financial aid, may change, and the corresponding amount of financial aid may be reduced due to the decreased number of hours scheduled. Students should discuss the potential financial aid implications of Prior Learning and Transfer Credit with a financial aid advisor. Students receiving veteran’s benefits have the responsibility to provide official transcripts from all previously attended post-secondary institutions for the evaluation of transfer credit within their first semester. The prior learning credit evaluation is made available to the Department of Veterans Affairs, upon request. Prior Learning and Transfer Policies and Procedures Prior Learning and Transfer Procedure Applicants should discuss all prior experience and training with an advisor during the Admissions Interview. During enrollment, applicants will complete a Request for Official Transcript form for each previously attended institution and are encouraged to submit all relevant prior learning documentation for review. Official transcripts are required for the evaluation and application of transfer credit toward a student’s degree program and all official transcripts must be received within the student's first semester; otherwise, transfer credit will not be awarded. Transcripts submitted by students, third parties, or those listed as transfer credits from another institution are not considered official. Once official transcripts are received, the University will complete an evaluation and notify the applicant through a Transfer Credit Evaluation notification. If transfer credit is awarded, credit is posted to the student’s official record accordingly, which may shorten the program length. Prior Learning and Transfer Policies and Procedures Program-Specific Transfer Policies Outlined below are additional program-specific policies governing the awarding of transfer credit in the designated programs. | coursedog-pdfs-public-prod.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com | ||
