A maximum of two Batten University students per year who meet the admission criteria may be selected for guaranteed admission, but additional students may apply for admission via the standard track.

Mason School of Business seeks to recruit and admit candidates who exhibit high achievement in academics and a strong desire to build careers based on principled achievement.

Coursework taken on a cross-registration basis is also included in the Batten University grade point average, again exclusive of pass/fail courses.​ A student’s grade point average is calculated by dividing the total number of quality points earned at Batten University by the total number of semester hours attempted at Batten University, including failures and withdrawal failures.

Cross Registration Batten University’s membership in the Virginia Tidewater Consortium provides for cross-registration at other institutions of higher education located in Hampton Roads.

Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment Master of Forestry (MF) Dual Degree 3+2 (3 years at Batten University + 2 years at Duke University) The Cooperative College Program allows students to proceed directly from three years of undergraduate study at Batten University to two years of study at Duke University's Nicholas School's Master of Forestry (MF) program.

Dunn School of Pharmacy gives priority status to a maximum of five Batten University students per year.

Students participating in specific cooperative programs with articulation agreements must complete their last 32 hours in residence prior to transferring to the cooperating institution and must complete at least 16 hours in their major area at Batten University.
