F, L, 3 credit hours This course surveys the role the visual arts have played in communication and the main divisions and subdivisions used in the field of art history. Emphasis will be on the major changes that developed over the centuries. The course will examine the historical, religious, and cultural factors that have determined the direction the arts have moved in through the centuries. Students will be introduced to the wide variety of creative expression employed by man and incorporates art vocabulary as needed.
