And, are you ready to apply for a position should the opportunity arise? This professional development seminar will enhance your knowledge about internships and careers and help you build practical skills through a series of steps and events throughout the semester. This seminar is designed to support the leadership development of college women that are scholars or fellows in the McNulty Program for Leadership in Science and Mathematics. Through a combination of reflection, discussion, and experiential learning, students will explore the foundations of effective leadership, beginning with self-knowledge—understanding personal values, strengths, and motivations—and extending to the cultivation of strong interpersonal relationships. Participants will examine how leadership grows from self-awareness and how collaboration, communication, and empathy enhance the ability to lead teams, mentor peers, and navigate professional environments. The course emphasizes building confidence, resilience, and a supportive community of women leaders in STEM.
