ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN ADMINISTRATIVE MEDICAL ASSISTING The Associate of Science in Administrative Medical Assisting prepares graduates to function in a health care setting. The goal of the program is to prepare competent entry-level administrative medical assistants in the knowledge, skills, and behavior learning domains. The practical and comprehensive coursework will include Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Electronic Health Records, Medical Office Management, Healthcare Billing and Coding, and Medical Office Finance. In addition to the principal course of study, students in the program will receive a background in computers. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam administered through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). P ROGRAM O UTCOMES Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: 1. Display professionalism by displaying a professional manner and image; demonstrating initiative and responsibility; working as a member of the health care team; prioritizing and performing multiple tasks; adapting to change; promoting credentials associated with administrative medical assisting; enhancing skills through continuing education; and treating all patients with compassion and empathy. 2.
