Learning in Secondary Mathematics 3 credits 3 class hours 1 conference hour 20 hours of field work Prerequisites: 2.75 GPA, completi of MA-440 with a B or better, letter of recommendation f a mathematics instructor Corequisite: MA-441 This course provides students with an understanding and appreciation of the basic concepts and principles of cognitive and behavioral learning in secondary mathematics. Topics include definitions of learning, cognitive development, construc- tivism, motivation, thinking skills and problem solving as related to mathematics learning and teaching.
