This program is designed to prepare students for transfer to classroom teacher preparation programs in the areas of early childhood education (Birth-grade 2) and childhood education (grades 1-6) with middle school extension (grades 7-9 subject area) at four-year institutions. Students who plan carefully can normally be expected to transfer to a four-year institution as juniors. The transfer institutions may have different requirements. Students should plan their programs with a transfer counselor and an academic advisor as soon as possible and preferably before beginning their first semester at Hudson Valley. Successful transfer to an education program at the your-year college level will be contingent upon students meeting the four-year college's admissions criteria, including a minimum GPA required by that institution.
