CHM 101Fundamentals of Chemistry3
This course emphasizes the fundamentals of basic chemistry, introducing students to the structure and behavior of matter. Topics include atomic structure, periodic trends, chemical bonding, reactions, and solution chemistry. Selected concepts from organic and biological chemistry will be included to enhance relevance for health-related fields. Students will develop foundational skills in scientific reasoning, quantitative analysis, and conceptual understanding of the chemical world. (Co-requisite: CHM-102) (SCI│CAR, SQR)
This laboratory course complements the introductory chemistry lecture by providing hands- on experience with core chemical concepts and techniques. Students will explore the structure and behavior of matter through guided experiments involving chemical reactions, solutions, and properties of substances. Emphasis is placed on developing scientific reasoning, laboratory skills, and collaborative problem solving. (Co-requisite: CHM-101) (SCI│CAR, SQR)
