NP 383Rotorcraft Systems and Maintenance () (60 contact hours)2.0
This elective course of study was originally designed to familiarize FAA field inspectors with the intricacies of rotary wing aircraft (helicopters). It evolved into a popular offering for AMT students. AG383 begins with the history of helicopters, and then discusses the aerodynamics peculiar to rotorcraft. Flight controls and basic engine installations are also discussed. Participants gain hands-on experience in many areas of helicopter maintenance. Students must have completed semesters one, two, and three to participate.
This 10-week avocational/elective course of study is designed to familiarize students with Drone Operations. It begins with an introduction to drones (sUAS) and continues with AA Part 107 Remote Pilot test preparations. Students will receive hands – on training that includes computerized drone flight simulators as well as hands on training using Syma X5 Series, or equivalent, drones. Student receives certificate of completion for course once completed. This course does not prepare students for initial employment in the drone industry. There are no prerequisites for this course.
