WAX 111Orientation, State Laws & Regulations 10 Clock Hours
This module introduces students to school policies, state laws and regulations, and the principles of professional ethics and personal hygiene. Instruction also includes salon management practices and the proper care, use, and maintenance of equipment to prepare students for safe, responsible, and professional conduct in the workplace.
WAX 112Anatomy & Physiology of the Skin and Hair 30 Clock Hours
This module provides instruction in skin analysis, anatomy, and physiology, and the identification of diseases and disorders of the skin as they relate to waxing services. Students will also study health, sterilization, sanitation, bacteriology, and safety practices, including infectious disease control measures, and the principles of temporary hair removal to ensure safe, knowledgeable, and professional hair removal treatments.
WAX 113Client Consultation and Skin Analysis 10 Clock Hours
This module provides instruction in effective client consultation, including health conditions, skin analysis, treatment planning, client expectations, and the proper use of health forms and questionnaires. Emphasis is placed on professional communication, cultural awareness, informed consent, and adapting services to respect diverse backgrounds, skin types, and individual needs while ensuring safe and ethical practice.
This module provides instruction in the fundamentals, safety rules, and proper procedures for hair removal of the brow, lip, facial, legs, arms, underarms, chest, back, and bikini areas. Students will learn sanitation standards, client preparation, product selection, and step-by-step waxing techniques to ensure safe, effective, and professional services.
