INDS 011Study Skills Seminar. (CIP: 32.0201)1
The primary focus of the course is to facilitate each student's academic and personal growth by presenting needed study and self-management skills. Required for all students admitted provisionally and recommended for students whose competency test scores, SAT/ACT scores, high school GPA, and class ranking suggest they may be at risk for failure. (Counts toward GPA but does not fulfill degree requirements toward graduation.)
Students are introduced to classical philosophical concepts and the premise of "worldview" as they relate to and inform Christian engagement with the world. Students explore and come to an understanding of how the world and society shape human thinking and are encouraged to see how Christianity offers a philosophy and worldview which best captures our pursuit of the Good, Beautiful, and True no matter the cultural background or experiences. The course intends to help students develop their ability to practice Christ-like thinking and behavior.
