Human Geography examines the relationships among people, culture, and space. It is the study of spatial variations among cultural groups and the spatial functioning of societies at local, regional and global scales both within the United States and throughout the world. This course focuses on describing, analyzing and comparing the ways in which human attributes, cultural characteristics and structures, including population, demographics, migration, language, religion, popular and folk cultures, race, ethnicity, gender roles, political and economic systems, levels of development, resource management, and land use and urbanization, remain constant or vary around the world.
