THERAPY 1-4-3 This course examines the theory, development and practice of art therapy and the role of self-expression in the process of both personal and communal healing. Students will explore the creative process of visual art and its relationship to the psychological and emotional self. Through various visual art methods and materials, students will investigate the role of self-expression toward personal growth. Students will discover sources of imagery and symbolic language from two perspectives: as creator and viewer, and link the benefits of creative expression to psychological health that have implications for specific local communities as well as the overall health of the community at large.
