Introduces basic hand and power tools with emphasis on proper care and safety practices. Introduces materials used in building trades including metals, plastics, and woods with stress placed on the processing techniques of each. Covers basic knowledge and requirements needed in the construction trades. Introduces use of tools and equipment, with emphasis on construction safety, including personal and tool safety. Provides a working introduction to basic blueprint reading and fundamentals of construction mathematics. An additional career and technical education course specific fee of $25.00 per credit hour applies to this course.
