Unleash your imagination! Creative writing allows us to explore our own creativity through writing—which often involves processing our own experiences, values, and aesthetic sensibilities—while also creating a meaningful experience for readers. Students study and write imaginatively in a variety of genres—play and screen writing, short fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction as selected by the professor. Students also read and respond to imaginative writing and to student work in progress.
