GMEX 1110Clinical Exercise Physiology

Those involved will develop knowledge within a broad scope of chronic illnesses and learn how the physiological aspect of a disease is inseparable from the development of a targeted clinical exercise program. Students will understand how to adopt a healthy lifestyle in order to effectively manage disease processes, and also how to efficiently improve aerobic endurance and those aspects of programmed exercise necessary for success. After learning the process of careful evaluation, students will become knowledgeable about the benefits of whole-body strength and its place in the overall exercise programming. The ultimate importance of coordination, flexibility, agility and balance will be taught in conjunction as well. These topics, along with others, will be incorporated to enable those with, or at risk for, a chronic disease to become functioning members of our society.
