This class will explore the variety of ways animals are utilized to provide com- fort, service, and assistance through animal assisted intervention, emotional support animal roles, and as service dogs for those with disabilities.

& Nutrition This course is an introduction to the care and management of companion animals and small mammals (dog, cat, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rabbits, ferrets). Topics include species identification, science of nutrition, nutri- tional needs, pet food industry, husbandry, and environmental considerations. Handling and restraint of these species will be discussed and common health concerns will be identified.
