This course provides students a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurial mindset, and its role in economic development in creating business and social ventures. This course provides and understanding of the principles and practices of social entrepreneurship, which is focused on developing innovative approaches to solve social issues in domestic and global settings. The course will define social entrepreneurship and distinguish it from traditional entrepreneurship. It will emphasize identifying social issues and opportunities, developing a sustainable business model and strategic plan for a social venture, and sources of funding social ventures. This course will also cover key topics such as measuring social impact, scaling a social venture, and ethical considerations in social entrepreneurship.

This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the financial aspects of entrepreneurship. It provides an understanding of the revenue forecasting, budgeting and risk management important for financial decision making, and develops the skills necessary for financial modeling. It evaluates the sources of funding available to entrepreneurs and the valuation techniques for valuing startups and small businesses, including discounted cash flow analysis. The course also analyzes various exit strategies for entrepreneurs.

The Entrepreneurship Capstone is the culminating course for students pursuing a degree in entrepreneurship. This experiential course integrates the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the program, providing students with the opportunity to apply entrepreneurial concepts in a real-world context. Through the development and execution of a comprehensive business plan, students will demonstrate their ability to identify opportunities, analyze markets, and create viable business ventures. Emphasis will be placed on critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication in the entrepreneurial process.
