LIBS 1000Introduction to Information Literacy

3 sem. hrs. **Not Part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway** Offered through RODP only (Prerequisites: DSPR 0800, DSPW 0800) This course is an introduction to library and research skills with an emphasis on the use of new technologies and resources in the development of a research project. Students acquire knowledge and skills in applying college-level research techniques through a variety of instructional strategies. A critical evaluation of print, World Wide Web and online sources is emphasized. Legal and so- cial issues related to the world of information are also explored. 3 hours lecture.
