The emphasis for this cou rse w i l l be on ways to promote health and optimal function ing. This course w i l l examine the myths associated with ageism, some of the theories of aging, normal body changes that are associated with aging, medication use, chronic and acute i l l nesses, mental health, nutri tion, the roles of physical activity and sexuality, and grief, loss and death. This is a course that w i l l not only be useful to nursing stu dents, but for those who are preparing for any health related area, as wel l as soc ial work, psycho logy, or any service related field.

ALH 254Human Cross-Sectional Anatomy3
A study of the human body in a cross-sectional context. Emphasis wil l be placed on major anatomical features and radiologic landmarks. Students also explore soft tissue details as resolution al lows. This course will serve to prepare students for conventional tomographic radiology, computer tomography, position em ission tomography, magnetic resonance scanning and ultrasonography.
