The General Studies Capstone requires a one-semester self-designed project with an interdisciplinary focus drawn from their Gen Studies focus areas. Students develop a proposal in consultation with the General Studies major advisor, invite three faculty to be part of their final grading committee, and submit their final work demonstrating oral proficiency, information literacy, and technology skills. The proposal is submitted as a written document for approval by the project advisor. The General Studies Capstone is required of all General Studies majors unless they have requested and been given permission by an academic department to complete another major capstone. A limited budget for associated project costs may be provided. Students
